12-11-13 woodworth middle school student expelled

A Woodworth Middle School student in Fond du lac has been expelled for bringing alcohol to school.  Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says the student was caught distributing alcohol to other students.  "The distribution and possession of alcohol in the school is obviously problematic,"  Sebert said.  Sebert says in situations like this it’s the district’s policy to punish the student

but to also make sure it doesn’t happen again.  "When we do have to attack those situations we try to work very closely with the students and the families.  I don't think, and the board has been very good with this philosophy, that students get magically better sitting at home,"  Sebert said.  "We try to provide some services at the central office for kids and get them back as quickly as we can."
