A Fond du lac man has
been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop. On Thursday, an officer
pulled over a vehicle in the area of N. Seymour St. and Thomas St. after
observing suspicious activity and learning the owner of the vehicle had a revoked
driver’s license. A K9 unit was called to assist with the
traffic stop and the vehicle was searched after the K9 unit developed
probable cause to believe the vehicle contained illegal drugs. During the search, officers found what was
suspected to be 34 baggies of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana and other miscellaneous drug
paraphernalia. Upon the discovery of the
illegal drugs, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot but was
apprehended after a short foot chase.
The driver of the vehicle, a 48 year old Fond du Lac man, was held at the
Fond du Lac County Jail on related drug charges and resisting arrest. During further
investigation, officers also determined that the driver of the vehicle had
rented a room in a local Fond du Lac hotel. Officers made contact at the hotel room where
they spoke with a 29 year old
