7-13-13 fdl drug bust

A Fond du lac man has been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop.  On Thursday, an officer pulled over a vehicle in the area of N. Seymour St. and Thomas St. after observing suspicious activity and learning the owner of the vehicle had a revoked driver’s license.  A K9 unit was called to assist with the traffic stop and the vehicle was searched after the K9 unit developed probable cause to believe the vehicle contained illegal drugs.  During the search, officers found what was suspected to be 34 baggies of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.  Upon the discovery of the illegal drugs, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase.  The driver of the vehicle, a 48 year old Fond du Lac man, was held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on related drug charges and resisting arrest.  During further investigation, officers also determined that the driver of the vehicle had rented a room in a local Fond du Lac hotel.  Officers made contact at the hotel room where they spoke with a 29 year old
Fond du Lac woman about the incident.  She was found to be in violation of bond conditions from a prior arrest and was also held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
