7-17-13 heat wave alert

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — With hot, humid conditions blanketing Wisconsin, local health officials are reminding those struggling with the weather that there are places to cool off. Eight public libraries in Marathon County have been designated as cooling centers. Public works employees and others who work outside in sweltering conditions often put in long hours in uncomfortable clothing. The National Weather Service says heat index values today will reach 95 to 99 away from Lake Michigan through Thursday.
