7-18-13 federal judge refuses to lift stay on new abortion law

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge has refused to lift a temporary stay on a crucial section of a new Wisconsin abortion law. The language requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. Planned Parenthood has filed a federal lawsuit arguing two abortion clinics in Appleton and Milwaukee would have to close because their providers lack admitting privileges.
