7-17-13 campbellsport native hits home run at mlb all-star softball game

A Campbellsport native made the most of his appearance on a national stage last night…by slugging a home run and being named the MVP of the Major League All-Star softball game in New York.  Representing the Wounded Warriors Softball team Josh Wege received a standing ovation from the crowd and high fives from major league baseball Legends after hitting a home run to left field over the outstretched arm of Ricky Henderson in last night’s game.  Wege circled the bases on two prosthetic legs to a cheering crowd and received slaps on the back and high fives from several teammates as he stepped on home plate and headed back to the dugout.  Nearly four years ago Wege lost both of his legs in a roadside blast in  Afghanistan.
