Fond du Lac city councilmember Rob VandeZande has resigned,
effective immediately due to a family medical issue. VandeZande made the announcement at Wednesday night’s city council meeting. VandeZande was first elected to the council in 2010 and was
re-elected in 2012. He says its been a great learning experience. "Learning the ins and outs of how the city is run. The city has gone through a big transition in the last three and a half years with having Tom Herre as the city manager to the hiring of Joe Moore, going through the wage scale situation and dealing with Act 10 brought down by the state, tough budget times," VandeZande said. "Its been tough but its been fund." The council will decide whether to appoint someone to fill
the vacancy or leave the position open until the election next April.
