Alliant Energy is bringing energy-efficient technology to
Fond du lac streetlights. Alliant
spokesman Scott Reigstad says approximately 30 streetlights in Fond du Lac will be replaced over the
next few
weeks with LED units as part of a pilot project to test the
performance of LED technology. The new streetlights are being installed along Martin and
Fond du Lac Avenues near the fairgrounds. Reigstad says the current streetlights in Fond du Lac and
throughout most of the state are high pressure sodium lights. The majority of these lights feature 100-watt or 150-watt equivalent compared to 80-watt units
for the new LED streetlights.
