A spokesperson for a Wisconsin environmental group says a
new report released this week on climate change doesn’t tell us much more than
what we already know…climate change is real, its accelerated , and the potential
impact is devastating. Clean Wisconsin Sr. Policy director Keith Reopelle says the
reason why scientists are concerned is that climate change is accelerated because
of human-induced carbon emissions.
Scientists say Wisconsin has been warming since at least
1950, with longer growing seasons that have benefitted some farmers. But Reopelle says those benefits are likely to be offset by damage from floods, drought and
other extreme weather.
