Dodge County law enforcement is holding another heroin
summit Thursday evening. The event
starts at 6:30pm at theLomira Middle School gym. Dodge County Sheriff Pat Ninmann says in Dodge County the
number of people who have died from accidental opiate overdoses has doubled in the
past year. Statewide
in 2012 there were 206 heroin deaths, a 50 percent increase
from 2011. Last year that number rose to 227. Heroin deaths have increased rapidly in recent years after averaging about 30 per year in Wisconsin from 2000 to 2007. . The summit is open to all parents and adult community
members.
