5-30-14 attorney general debate

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A debate between all three Democrats and one Republican running for Wisconsin attorney general that originally was closed to the media will now be open.  The candidates are scheduled to debate at Saturday's annual meeting of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association. The hour-long, town hall style debate was initially closed because it's part of the statewide police union's candidate endorsement process.  But WPPA executive director Jim Palmer reversed course Thursday after being asked about closing the debate by The Associated Press. Palmer says it will now be open to media coverage and none of the candidates object.  Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel is the only Republican running. The three Democrats are state Rep. Jon Richards, Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne and Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ.
