A man identified as a suspect in the Berit Beck cold case
homicide has been charged in Kenosha County. Dennis Brantner was charged this week with felon in possession of a weapon. Brantner was charged after investigators found a weapon in
Brantner’s Kenosha County home. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office held a news
conference in April to announce that Brantner was a suspect in the 1990 disappearance and murder of the 18 year old Beck. Her van was found in the Fond du Lac Forest Plaza parking lot and
her body was found about a month later in a roadside ditch near
Waupun. Investigators say they had “tangible physical evidence” that
places Brantner in Beck’s van.
Detectives say evidence from Beck’s van is currently being tested at the state crime lab.
