5-7-14 state republican party executive director goes "between the lines"

The executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin says he’s confident Republicans will hold onto the 6th Congressional District seat.    Fond du Lac congressman Tom Petri  announced he is retiring after holding the seat for 35 years.   Party director Joe Fadness says following the party’s convention it will be  a sprint  to the finish for the three announced Republican candidates.  "I think its still a very wide-open field, that you have three candidates on our side who are out there talking about how we continue to reinforce what we've done in Wisconsin and take some of that common sense out to Washington,"  Fadness told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program.  Meanwhile Fadness would not speculate on the possibility of
either Governor Scott Walker or congressman Paul Ryan running for president.  Fadness said the goal is the November election.  "We cannot lose focus on the goal ahead of us, and that is the six month sprint between now and  November 4th"  Fadness said.  "We do believe Mary Burke is going to pose a challenge and we take the race seriously."
