5-7-14 bike to school day

Not long ago, walking or biking to school was the norm.  Over the past 30 years the percentage of children doing that has declined significantly.  Fond du Lac School District Health and Safety Programs Coordinator

Marian Sheridan says Wednesday’s Bike to School Day is an effort to reverse that trend.  "We have been working hard at the Fond du lac School District to encourage families and children to either walk or bike to school," Sheridan told WFDL news.  "This is one way of annually promoting biking to school day."  Sheridan says kids and parents need to make sure they think safety when biking to school today, including wearing a bike helmet.
