7-10-13 merc groundbreaking ceremonies for manufacturing expansion project

Mercury Marine, the world’s leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, will conduct a July 11 groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of two expansion projects that will increase manufacturing capacity in the company’s Fond du Lac facilities.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m.  The combined cost of both projects, including equipment installations later this year, will be more than $20 million.  Mercury is expanding and enhancing manufacturing capacity and capability in support of market growth and expanded product offerings. Two local firms are heading up the projects: Excel Engineering for architectural design and C.D. Smith for construction management. Approximately 90 percent of the project work is being performed by companies in the Fond du Lac area or Wisconsin.
