The Wisconsin chapter of the American Red Cross has issued
an emergency call for blood and platelet donors. Red Cross spokesperson Bobbie Snethen says the emergency
request is being made because many fewer donations than expected were
received in June and the first week of July. Snethen says nationwide donations through the Red Cross were
down approximately ten percent in June resulting in about 50,000 fewer
donations than expected. Snethen says that is similar to last year at this time. Upcoming blood drives include 9am to 2:30pm Wednesday at Ripon
High School, 9am-1pm Thursday the Oakfield Community Center and
12:30pm-5:30pm July 16th at the Campbellsport Public Library. In Dodge County blood drives will be held July 22nd
at Waupun High School and the Mayville American Legion and July 23rd at Union
Hall in Horicon.
