5-8-14 waupun woman convicted of embezzling thousands of dollars

A Waupun woman has been convicted of embezzling thousands of dollars from a Mayville business where she was an employee, as well as taking thousands of dollars in products from the business. At a plea hearing Tuesday in Dodge County Circuit Court, 35 year old Teresa Ruch pleaded no contest to one count of felony theft and three counts of misdemeanor theft. Ruch was accused of taking about 35 thousand dollars, as well as 15 thousand dollars worth of goods from Mayville Vision from 2009 to 2012. Ruch left Mayville Vision in 2012 when she and her husband bought Jan’s Optical in Waupun. Judge John Storck placed Ruch on a deferred prosecution agreement on the felony charge, and a sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 20th for the misdemeanor counts. Online court records say restitution has been paid in full.
