5-6-14 kewaskum home invasion
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is alerting Kewaskum
area residents to a home invasion which occurred early Monday morning in the 9300 block of Old Fond du Lac Road in
the Town of Kewaskum. At 12:48 a.m. a
resident was awakened by the sound of breaking glass. The resident confronted a male suspect standing
inside the home by a dining room table located near the front door. The
suspect had apparently broken the glass on the locked front door and gained
entry to the home. The resident yelled
at the suspect who then grabbed a purse off of the dining room table and fled
on foot. The resident then observed that
the suspect had dropped a number of crushed aluminum cans as he fled. The cans
were later found to have been stolen from an outbuilding on the property. The
suspect had stolen up to five bags of crushed cans from the outbuilding prior
to breaking into the home. The suspect
is described as a white male approximately 6’ tall, medium build, wearing
lighter colored pants and a dark sweatshirt or jacket. There were no weapons displayed. The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to
secure their entry doors, windows and garage doors. Lock any detached
garages and storage sheds. Keep your yard and property well lit. If you observe
a crime taking place, call 911. Suspicious activity can be reported 24/7 to the
Sheriff’s Office by calling 262-335-4411.
