5-15-14 waupun arson fire

A Waupun woman who tried to burn down her apartment building during an alleged attempt to harm herself has been found not guilty of arson by reason of mental disease or defect.  A hearing is scheduled for June 26^th to determine how long 43 year old Jennifer Balisteri will be committed to a mental institution. According to the criminal complaint, Last November Balisteri set fire to her apartment by dropping lighted candles into piles of clothing in the living room and bedroom.  She said she wanted to die.
