7-3-13 former campbellsport couple accused of covering up in son's death

Investigators say the parents know how their infant son died last summer but the parents aren’t talking.   Twenty year old Mitchell Towne and 19 year old Victoria Jarowski made their initial Fond du lac court appearances Tuesday on misdemeanor resisting/ obstructing charges.  Their four month old son Greyson died last July 7th after  they told detectives they found him not breathing in his playpen at a Campbellsport area home.    But Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says investigators don’t believe the parents are telling the truth about what happened.  We don't know what happened, but there are clearly two people who know what happened,"  Olig said.  "You would think that with the death of a child involved that parents would at least tell the truth."
Olig says there are several inconsistencies in the stories both parents have told detectives.  "We're not saying that this is a homicide, we don't know.  But what they (parents) are telling us is not true,"  Olig said.  "They've lied to us about the time frames, significantly."   Olig says through the investigation detectives knew that "something wasn't right, things weren't adding up."  According to the criminal complaint the mother admitted to not telling the truth when she initially told investigators she got up at 6am.  The parents didn't actually wake up that morning until 11;30.  The couple is free on signature bonds.
