Fond du Lac County is in
the top ten counties in Wisconsin for tourism spending. Fond du lac Area
Convention and Visitors Bureau president Craig Molitor says
tourism spending increased 7.55 percent last year…higher than
any other area county. Winnebago county saw a 5.59 percent
increase and a 5.79 percent increase in Dodge County. Molitor says in 2013 tourism spending totaled
$119 million in Fond du lac County…up from $84 million in
2010. The Wisconsin Department
of Tourism says visitors added about $17.5 billion to the state economy last year, up
about 4 percent from the year before. Tourists directly put about $10.8 billion into the
economy, up from about $10.3 billion in 2012.
