12-9-13 fdl residents can pay parking meter using cellphones
Fond du Lac residents can now pay for parking using their
cell phones. Community Development Director Wayne Rollin says the city is
partnering with PassportParking to introduce a mobile payment option
for residents. Rollin says to use the system, customers register on-wite
for free via the PassportParking Mobile Pay app or voice system. Once securely registered motorists can pay for parking, calling a toll-free number,
or texting their zone and space information. Motorists can also select the option to receive text message
alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to the expiration of their parking session. Rollin says the system will help the city manage their
facilities more efficiently and cost-effectively by providing real-time access to
revenue, enforcement and rate data.
