This week’s extreme winter weather creates very dangerous
driving conditions for motorists. AAA
has responded to thousands of road service calls in the last 72 hours. State AAA spokesperson Nick Jarmusz says AAA has had to
prioritize the calls, responding to the more serious calls first. "Total call volume has really been through the roof," Jarmusz told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program. "Yesterday we experienced call volumes well over double what we normally would. We responded to well over 13,000 calls." AAA recommends if motorists become stranded it is best to
stay with the vehicle. If you can start your engine, run it only long enough to
keep warm. Keep emergency supplies in the car including a cell phone and charger, warm
clothes and blankets.
