Bail was set at $50,000 cash for a former Waupun police lieutenant facing multiple charges in Green Lake County circuit court.  Forty four year old Brad Young made his initial court appearance Monday on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal damage to property, obstructing and taking a vehicle without the owners consent.  A status hearing is scheduled for February 25th.    According to a criminal complaint Young is accused of breaking into grocery stores in Berlin and Markesan, and Walker’s Kohlerville restaurant in the town of Green Lake.  The complaint also said Young admitted to breaking into the Waupun Piggly Wiggly store August fourth, stealing more than $3000 in cash. According to the complaint Young stolen a pickup truck from a town of Green Lake residence, driving to a cabin in northwest Wisconsin, leading police on a high speed chase in Barron County before crashing into a ditch.  He was later arrested at a Cabin near Spooner.   Young resigned from the Waupun Police department in September.
