Reaction from downtown business owners appears to be mixed to an idea for a roundabout at a downtown intersection. The DOT will examine the possibility of a roundabout at the intersection of  Main and Merrill in the design phase of a North Main Street reconstruction project slated for 2020.   Fond du Lac downtown partnership director Amy Hansen says the idea has been in the downtown comprehensive plan for a few years…but is coming to the public’s attention now because the reconstruction project is getting closer. Hansen says there are pros and cons…and there feeling on both sides In  the downtown business community.  Hansen says it appears that there would be a very minimal impact, if any,  to property owners on the four corners of that intersection.
