A Republican lawmaker
from Markesan says she likes the governor’s approach for a larger than anticipated budget surplus. State representative Joan Ballweg says the money should go to taxpayers for tax
relief. "Revenue projections are such that it has really climbed and I'm inclined to agree with the govenror that we should be returning these additional funds to the taxpayers," Ballweg told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program. Ballweg says the nearly $1 billion surplus is another
indicator of a rebounding economy. Ballweg says she also wants to see money set aside in a rainy day fund in case
there is another financial crisis.
