Fond du Lac residents who use Camelot Drive as a park and
ride may soon have to use another spot to car pool. The Fond du lac Advisory Parking and Traffic Board is recommending to ban parking on both sides of Camelot Drive from South Main
Street to the 151 Bypass.
The parking ban was requested by
three Camelot Drive businesses, Agnesian
HealthCare, Society Insurance and Grande Cheese. "Peak times averages 75-80 cars every 15 minutes going through their," City Engineer Paul DeVries told WFDL news. "What happens is these cars will stop in the middle of traffic to let their car pooling people out and then they frequently make u-turns in the middle of the road and all that creates conflicts with people trying to north and south...get to their place of business." DeVries says there is another
location near the Wild Goose Trail where people can park and ride…and another park and ride lot
planned along the bypass following the reconstruction of the Highway V-45 interchange in 2016.
