1-8-14 fdl man charged with child sex assault, weapons violations

Bail has been set at $2 million cash for a Fond du lac County man arrested on child sex assault and firearms charges.  Jeffrey MacMilan made his initial Fond du Lac Court appearance Tuesday on 13 counts of felon in possession of a firearm and five counts of sexual assault of a child.  He was arrested Friday after sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at his town of Empire home.  Assistant District Attorney Dennis Krueger says MacMillan is also accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl in the home.  Krueger says he asked for the high cash bail because he believes MacMillan is a flight risk.  The Sheriff's office was assisted in their investigation by state and federal authorities including the FBI, ATF and state Department of Criminal Investigation.   A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 24^th.
