State agencies are teaming up to warn residents about the
potential life-threatening cold air that has its grip on Wisconsin. Emergency management’s Tod Pritchard says residents need to
be aware of hypothermia and frostbite with these bitter
temperatures. "This is really extraordinary," Pritchard told WFDL news. "We haven't had this kind of cold weather since the mid 90s." Pritchard says there is also a carbon monoxide danger when
people try alternative methods to heat their homes. People are also reminded to bring keep their pets indoors
when its this cold. Farmers need to make sure their livestock have a place to
get out of the wind and to provide dry bedding to protect them from frostbite. Also if you are traveling make sure you have a winter
emergency kit in your vehicle.
