9-5-13 fdl council finalists named

The list of candidates for a vacancy on the Fond du lac city council has been narrowed to six.  The finalists selected from a field of 12 applicants include former councilmembers Mark Jurgella and Mick Burroughs along with David Washkoviak, Andrew Land, Brian Kolstad and Brian Foster.   Council president Sam Meyer tells WFDL news he believes it’s a strong field to choose from.
Washkoviak is a realtor with Roberts Homes, Land is the director of the Hospice Home of Hope, Kolstad is a photographer and works for an Internet website firm  and Foster  is the warden at Kettle Moraine Correctional and former mayor and councilmember in a small town in Iowa.  A special council meeting will be held Friday afternoon  for candidate interviews.  The council hopes to make a selection at their meeting next week.  The new councilmember will be sworn into office September 25th.   The vacancy was created by the resignation of Rob VandeZande due to a family medical issue.
