9-21-13 markesan robbery case closed

Police say DNA results regarding an armed robbery at the Agnesian Pharmacy in Markesan are tied to a man who robbed a Wautoma pharmacy, got into a police standoff and later shot and killed himself.  Markesan police sergeant Wil Pflum says DNA evidence recovered at the scene of the robbery was a profile from 33 year old Timothy Pawlacyk of Red Granite.  Police say Pawlacyk  was looking for oxycontin when he robbed the phamarcy in June.  On August 14th police say Pawlacyck robbed a Wautoma pharmacy and was involved in a chase with sheriff’s deputies.  Waushara county sheriff David Peterson says Pawlacyk drove into a construction zone, left his vehicle and ran into a vacant house.  A standoff ensued and police and the suspect  exchanged gunfire.  A SWAT team later entered the house and found Pawlacyck dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.  Pflum says since Pawlacyk is deceased, the Markesan robbery case has been closed.
