9-18-13 lemon law bill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A measure aimed at tightening the state's lemon law is on its way to Gov. Scott Walker. Lemon laws cover when consumers can sue auto manufacturers. The new measure would remove the ability to receive double damages in such cases and shorten to three years from six years the deadline for bringing a lawsuit after purchasing a faulty vehicle to three years. It's backed by the state's largest business lobbying group and a coalition of vehicle manufacturers and dealers.
