The Fond du Lac Community Development Director says a
proposed conference Center at the Holiday Inn would be one of the biggest in the
Fox Valley. The city would assist the developer with a tax increment
district. Community Development Director Wayne Rollin says the
financial risk to the city is low. 'We're going to use the tax increment generated by the new hotel to pay for this, Rollin said. "We will write a check to the Holiday Inn for $950,000 after all of this work is done and then we get our money back through the additional taxes generated by the Holiday Inn Express." At 16,000 square feet Rollin says this will be the third largest conference center
in the Fox Valley. A public hearing on the proposal was held at Monday night’s
planning commission meeting.
