Fond du Lac city officials say residents need to to continue
to run water even though temperatures are moderating a bit this
week. The city issued a run water advisory last week in an effort
to prevent frozen water service lines. Public works director Jordan Skiff says reports of frozen water pipes continue to
come in on a daily basis. "We continue to get about five calls a day from new properties that have a frozen service," Skiff told WFDL news. "That's a frustrating and difficult situation as it does take several hours to thaw out most of these services." Meanwhile Skiff says the city is concerned that water main
breaks
could start to increase as the temperature warms to above freezing over the next few days.
