2-19-14 lake winnebago incident
On Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 10:39 pm the Fond du Lac County 911 Center received a report of an incident on Lake Winnebago, off Artesia Beach Rd in the Town of Calumet. Initial information was that a 32 year old male had driven from Wyoming to Minnesota where he met with a family member and they were en route to Canada. They ended up driving onto Lake Winnebago where the 32 yr old driver became combative and was acting unusual. The passenger got out and walked to shore to call 911. The 32 yr old male subsequently got his vehicle stuck on Lake Winnebago and left on foot. Calumet County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with 2 snowmobiles, the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office SARC was dispatched and a search was conducted. The male was located on Lake Winnebago at approximately 1:15 am, primarily unclothed. He was transported to St Agnes Hospital by Mt Calvary EMS, for evaluation and treatment. The male is from Nicaragua and it is believe there may be some mental health issues involved in this incident.
