A former Waupun police lieutenant facing multiple charges in
Green Lake County has waived his preliminary hearing. Fort y four year old Brad Young was bound over for trial
Tuesday on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools,
criminal damage to property, obstructing an officer and takinga
vehicle without
the owner’s consent.
Young is accused of breaking into grocery stores in Berlin and Markesan last summer and Walker’s
Kohlerville restaurant in the town of Green lake.
He is also accused of stealing a pickup truck from a town of Green Lake residence, driving to a cabin in northwest
Wisconsin and leading police on a high speed chase in Barron County. He was later arrested at a cabin near Spooner. Young resigned from the Waupun police department in September.
He is being held in the Green Lake County
Jail on $50,000 cash bond.
