A North Fond du Lac man was seriously injured when the
pickup truck he was driving collided with a train. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Rick
Olig says the accident happened Friday afternoon on Viaduct Road in
the town of Friendship. Olig says a preliminary investigation shows the pickup was westbound when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at the railroad crossing and was struck by a southbound CN train. A 63 year old North Fond du lac man was flown by helicopter to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center with what were described as serious injuries. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies, state patrol, Van
Dyne Fire Department and first responders, North Fond du Lac EMS and Fire, Flight for
Life helicopter and CN Railroad police
all responded to the scene.
