11-19-13 wisconsin-google settment
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin will receive about $336,000 dollars from Google as part of a settlement with 37 states and the District of Columbia. The money settles allegations that Google altered its coding to circumvent default privacy settings on Apple's Safari web browser to allow advertisers to set tracking cookies. The company stopped the practice in February 2012.
