11-18-13 uw fdl student housing project rfp

The UW Fond du Lac Foundation has released a Request for Proposals for a student housing project.  The scope of work in t he RFP includes pre-design, design-build and management of the 76-120 bed student housing facility.  A mandatory proposer’s conference will be held December 4^th and inquiries regarding the RFP must be received in writing by Wednesday, December 11^th.  Full proposals are due by December 20^th.  A Fond du Lac County Board vote on the project was delayed until after the first of the year after some county board supervisors raised concern about the plan to lease county property for a dollar an acre per year to a private developer.   County Executive Al Buechel says a proposed developer will  be brought back for consideration at  the January county board meeting.
