11-19-13 new state budget director named

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has named Michael Heifetz as his budget director. Heifetz took over Monday for Brian Hayes, who held the position since Walker took office in 2011 but left last month to serve as Hearings and Appeals division administrator. Heifetz will oversee the budget department within the Department of Administration. Its main job is working with the governor on preparing the roughly $68 billion state budget every two years.
