11-14-13 fdl council approves development agreement for motel expansion

The Fond du Lac city council has approved a development agreement for a multi-million dollar expansion at the Holiday Inn.  Motel officials say they plan to invest $10 million dollars at the Fond du Lac location over the next two years including a new 16,000 square foot conference center.

Council president Sam Meyer says the conference center will have a positive economic impact throughout the community.  "Finally after decades of really needing something like this, after decades of having groups bypass the city of Fond du lac because we didn't have the facility, now we finally have the opportunity to be a venue for someone who might want 400 individuals to come into our town, stay overnight, hold their business conference and go out in the restaurants and stores and spend money."
