MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two more
Republican state Assembly members say they will not be seeking re-election. Rep. John Klenke, of Green Bay, announced
Monday that he will not be running for a third term. Last week Rep. Mary
Williams, of Medford said she would be retiring after 12 years in the
Legislature. Their announcements bring
to six the number of representatives who are not running for re-election. Five
of them are Republicans. An additional five are running for a different office
and won't be returning. Republican Rep.
Dean Kaufert is running for mayor of Neenah and has said he will give up his
seat if he wins. Republicans currently
hold a 60-39 majority in the Assembly.
