2-13-14 fdl county committee approves uw fdl housing project

UW Fond du Lac officials say if everything goes as planned construction on a new student housing project  could begin this spring.  A Fond du Lac County committee has recommended approval of hiring an Iowa developer for the project.  County executive Al Buechel says the full county board is expected to vote in March.   A county board vote on the project last fall was delayed after some supervisors raised concern about the plan, including the location and leasing county property for a dollar an acre per year to a private developer. Buechel says the same developer is already working in Sauk County on a similar student housing project where that county board approved the agreement last fall.
