11-8-13 move to amend

A local movement appears to be growing in an effort to take big money out  of politics.  Fond du lac resident Donna Richards is one of dozens of local residents who are part of a grassroots movement to amend the U.S. Constitution regarding campaign donations.  Wisconsin Move to Amend supports
a constitutional amendment that reads inalienable rights belong to human beings and that money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns.  She says citizens are losing representation.  Richards says huge corporate donations, many from out of state have too much influence on elections at the local, state and national level.
The group has met twice in Fond du Lac.  Richards made the comments on AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program.
