11-5-13 walker withdraws nomination for government accountability board

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The former judge who was chairman of the nonpartisan board that oversees elections during Walker's recall in 2012 says he feels like he's been fired and he doesn't know why. Judge David Deininger says Gov. Scott Walker's attorney told Deininger that Walker withdrawing Deininger's nomination and replacing him on the board was part of a deal the governor reached with the Republican-led Senate. But Deininger said he wasn't given a reason as to why he was targeted.
