A Fond du lac man has been convicted in a shooting incident where one of the bullets deflected off an innocent bystander’s belt
buckle. A Fond du lac jury deliberated less than two hours Thursday afternoon before finding William Wilcox guilty on four counts of first degree
recklessly endangering safety and one count of causing injury by negligient use of a weapon. A
pre-sentence investigation will be ordered. The incident happened last December around bar closing time in downtown Fond du
Lac. Police say an innocent bystander was
fortunate to escape serious injury when one of the four bullets fired
deflected off his belt buckle.
