6-24-14 fdl school district censorship policy

A Fond du Lac school board member says wonders where the superintendent is finding time to review and make changes to articles in the high school newspaper?   Mark Jurgella is reacting to the latest episode in the district’s new censorship saga involving the Cardinal Columns student newspaper.  "I don't think thats the way we want to go about doing business with our newspaper,"  Jurgella told WFDL news.  "I don't know that superintendents have that much time to be involved in student newspapers to this degree."  Jurgella says if there is any oversight by administrators it should be minimal.  The school board held a workshop session Monday night to discuss the issue.
