With  the July 4^th holiday right around the corner local law enforcement says there always seems to be confusion surrounding Wisconsin’s unique law regarding fireworks.  Waupun police chief Dale Heeringa says

in Wisconsin just because you can purchase illegal fireworks doesn’t give you permission to light them off. Chief Heeringa says basically any firework that explodes or leaves the ground is illegal.  According to the National Fire Protection Agency there were 9.600 fireworks-related injuries in the United States last year.  Fireworks were also responsible for nearly 18,000 fires causing $32 million in property damage.
