The Fond du Lac County Board has approved a renewed
agreement with the developer of the former Rolling Meadows Nursing home. The developer plans to convert the building into a 71 unit
senior
apartment complex. County executive Al Buechel says the updated agreement
addresses changes to the development plans from the original proposal
three years ago to convert the former nursing home into a
hotel/conference center. "They need a lot more parking, so part of the agreement was they could use our parking lot during their busy times," Buechel said. "They no longer need that area. They ask that the easement we would be providing for that purpose would be eliminated, therefore the obligation to help us (maintain the entrance) would also be eliminated." The developer hopes to start construction this year with the
apartments opening next summer.
