4-2-14 hammer beating court trial

A Fond du Lac judge is listening to testimony this week in the trial of a man accused of  nearly beating a Fond du lac man to death with a hammer.  A court trial is being held before Fond du Lac judge Gary Sharpe for 40 year old James Graham.  Graham is accused of bludgeoning Ronald Robertson at an east 9th Street residence more than five years ago.  Assistant Fond du lac police chief Steve Klein says the victim is lucky to be alive.  Robertson received more than 70 staples to close wounds in his head.  Graham told investigators he throught he had killed Robertson and fled to Milwaukee.  He was arrested but failed to appear in court in May of 2009.  Graham was arrested as a suspect in another case, identified through the warrant and taken into custody in January of this year.
