The former Dodge County sheriff says he plans to make a
decision within about a week on whether he will run for congress. Former sheriff Todd Nehls says he is seriously considering entering the race for the 6th
District Congressional seat. The 53 year old Nehls retired as sheriff about a year ago
and says his 35 years in law enforcement and
being a war veteran give him the experience and background to serve in congress.
Nehls says he plans to make a decision on whether to run
soon. Nehls says he would be someone who would be able to reach
across the aisle. Fond du Lac congressman Tom Petri announced that he would not be seeking re-election after 35 years in the U.S. House.
